Our spring black bear hunts take place in remote mountain valleys with some of the highest bear densities in North America. These classic spot-and-stalk hunts run from early May through mid-June, when mature boars are on the move in search of sows. Expect high success and quality hides, with good opportunity for color-phase bears. We glass steep timbered slopes, slides, and river corridors, accessed by riverboat and horseback. Most bears taken measure between 6 and 6.5 feet.
- Moderate physical demand, ideal for both new and seasoned hunters
- Strong hide quality and early color-phase potential
- Excellent visibility and bear movement during peak spring activity
- Prep guide and gear list provided before the hunt
